I am Noor Safiya, an advocate and activist for Palestinian people. This is my friend Ahmad's story.

"I am Mr. Ahmad Abu Shamaleh, 38 years old, I work as a car driver, married to Alaa, 30 years old, I have four children: Rama, 12 years old, Hussam, 10 years old, Jude, 5 years old, Mohammed, 3 years old, and my wife is seven months pregnant. At the beginning, I will tell you the story of my family and my suffering since the first day of the war on the Gaza Strip, where the occupation brought down houses on the heads of their residents, and since I live in a neighborhood adjacent to the border, the occupation asked the residents to move to the south, so I took my family from my house and moved them to the south in order to protect their lives. I took my family from my house and moved them to the south in order to preserve their lives, so we moved on foot a distance of no less than 5 kilometers, knowing that Hussam suffers from brain atrophy and complete paralysis, how much suffering was until we arrived in the city of Khan Yunis and staying in tents. This event at the height of fear, terror and fatal fatigue for me, my children and my pregnant wife, and from here was my suffering and my family in the story of my child Hussam, as he had only enough treatment for 15 days.

This treatment is indispensable and it is a treatment for spasticity, in addition to his only food, which is Silk, a type of formula, which is not available at all, and if there are small quantities, it is at a high price, and I stayed for days and weeks looking for a little medicine and food so that my child's health does not deteriorate, and I was not aware of the news that my relatives' house, where most of my family lives, was bombed, and three of my brothers' wives and eight of their innocent, defenseless children were martyred, and it was like a thunderbolt to my heart. Three of my brothers' wives and eight of their unarmed and innocent children were martyred, and how this was like a thunderbolt on my heart, and added to that I could not reach them because I was far from them and did not attend their funeral and farewell, and as soon as I started to regain my energy and health, I returned to the issue of my child Hossam and my suffering that is still continuing and what I saved effort or fatigue in reaching his treatment or replacement.

But all my attempts became unsuccessful due to the unavailability of the treatment that is the basis of the basics of life for my child Hussam and his weight was 15 kilos, but with the passage of time and the failure to provide sufficient food and treatment. I felt that my child is in a bad condition, but it is powerless, so the child began to gradually weaken and I lost my search for this treatment for long periods, but to no avail and after this suffering. The news comes that my house was bombed by a tank shell, but the biggest concern is my child, then I weighed the child and his weight dropped from 15 kilos to 8 kilos. Then after that the occupation asked us to move from Khan Yunis, so I left for a short time, then they said to move to another safe area, so I moved there with my relatives, but my biggest concern is my son Hussam, and I continued to search for this medicine.

I went to the hospital in order to do anything to help my child recover, but it was a shock in the hospital when they told me that there was no point in it and it is only a few hours or days at the latest, and indeed what we did not want happened when they said that there was no point in him being in the hospital, so I discharged him and went home, but God's ability was earlier, as he died in the hands of his mother in the car at the door of the hospital. I returned as quickly as possible to do something for him, but it was too late, and I lost a piece of my heart that I will never forget. A piece of my heart that I will never forget. He was then buried. My wife was not eating anything due of the news of the loss of our son, and she fainted and was then in bad shape with her health, and I as her husband do not wish this thing to happen again. I hope you help me get out of the Gaza Strip because of the grinding war. Because of the very high and expensive travel costs so that I can live in a safe place for me and my family, knowing that the occupation has recently threatened a land invasion, I need your assistance. In short, there is no safe place in the Gaza Strip and because of that, please help us, and thank you."
