“Everyone’s contribution brings hope, change and life to a community in need. Everything adds to the greater cause. No act is too big or too small when we reach out to others. We are a ministry that places the needs of others before our own”

We have started this project in January 2014 making blankets and also receiving squares and blankets in the post. I have been so blessed by the ladies from our crochet group who have used their own finances to buy the wool to make the blankets, scarves and beanies, given of their time and resources and have been faithfully dedicated and committed to the project and greater cause. Up to now we have made and handed out over 500 blankets, scarves and beanies combined to places like a disadvantaged disabled school in rural area, hospitals, orphanages and to children and families in our local community. There is a lot of need in our community of Eshowe. There are many homes that are headed up by children or 10 children living with a granny. We want to point out the grassroots needs and be able to help them in a small way of giving them something that is special and made from Love and will keep them warm.

In the future I would also love to be able to supply them with the staple food they might need to sustain them when our project expands a bit more. Ultimately I would love to be able to teach these children a skill: crocheting, sewing, knitting or wood work. Equip them so that they may break the cycle of poverty in their little world and that they would be able to support themselves making and selling things.
