For Start up of Epilepsy Foundation Hong Kong

Epilepsy is a chronic noncommunicable disease affecting over 50 millions people worldwide and affecting over 60,000 people in Hong Kong. Epilepsy is not only a disease. It is proven that in our society, a significant stigma is attached to the illness. The general attitude of public towards persons with epilepsy; and the inadequacy of knowledge and misunderstanding of the illnesses can put more burden and negative impact on persons with epilepsy than the disease itself.

Mission: To help people living with epilepsy, to strive for a cure

We are a group of medical professionals, social workers, and volunteers who are dedicated to patients with epilepsy. We believe educational or promotion activities with a knowledge portal can help the general public, persons with epilepsy, and their relatives and friends to know more more about epilepsy. We also believe making discoveries through supporting research are crucially important for seeking cure of epilepsies.

We establish The Foundation to fulfil the aforementioned mission. We strive to put the efforts of medical professions, social workers, and volunteers together. We will organise educational and promotional activities for general public and persons with epilepsy.
