I live in Mytilini, an island in Greece. I have epilepsy since I was nine years old. The people’s prejudice, who had no perception of the neurological state of my problem, led me to leave for other countries in Europe to work. There I came aware of my full potential which was much greater than I was made to believe back in my country. I came back having gained cooking skills and self confidence that allowed me to be an operating citizen.

A year ago, in 2019, I had to have an operation in my cerebrum, a procedure called meningioma in the temporal lobe, and my crises have become much less controlled than they used to. As a result of that I sometimes lose consciousness and that made my working conditions very difficult. In addition to that, I had no power to work due to my weakness while I was recovering and there is no financial support from my family. Now I’m a year late for my rent and I lack the money to pay the bills for my recovery.

State does not provide any allowances for epilepsy. I randomly ran into this site and, though I am embarrassed to write my story, I hope you will understand the situation I am in and please help me.

Thank you,

Organizer
