A recently graduated law student from Croatia is offered an internship in Phoenix, Arizona. Sounds like a dream come true for a fresh graduate, right? But just so things wouldn't be too simple, the internship only offers a plane ticket and accommodation.
In order not to give up for lack of funds, being freshly unemployed after finishing my studies and all, I decided to try and raise funds for food, commodities, local transport, utilities and if the funding goes over the top - maybe an occasional weekend trip to Grand Canyon.
The internship is in a law office in Phoenix, Arizona, and lasts for three months - January to March 2018. My goal during the internship itself is to (i) get experience, (ii) network and (iii) learn about the American-style approach to business, then return back home to Croatia afterwards and pursue a career of a business lawyer, putting all these benefits into work.
