Campaign Story
The large number of mine workers in South African are facing retrenchments. Many of them are from rural areas and have very low level of general literacy not to mention financial literacy. We are starting a campaign to empower those being retrenched with financial literacy and investments opportunities. Experience has taught us that upon receiving their retrenchment packages, many rush to buy non investment items such as expensive vehicles, tech gadget, clothes etc. These decisions only perpetuate the cycle of poverty and we want to offer workshops to mitigate them. The workshops will be extended to other sectors over a period of time. We require funding to develop content and material for these workshops.
