Campaign Story
My #1 dream for as long as I can remember was to empower women to start their own successful businesses. My heart has and always will be to empower not only every woman I come into contact with, but also those that have had a shaky start to life. Just because a woman might have grown up in poverty and without an education, it does not make her less of a human being. This is what I have pledged my life's purpose to and that is to give these women a second chance at life, that they may never get in their lifetime.
" What is missing from Diepsloot, as in other large urban townships, is a viable middle ground: a dynamic middle-income economic structure on a large scale that hosts a range of robust businesses, both labor intensive and small enterprises, that are suited to absorbing the limited skill levels available among the townships’ unemployed masses " (Reference).
In order to help make these ladies dreams come true, I cannot do it alone. It would take the help and donations of many people who share the same heart towards woman who live in poverty. As my hero once said: "Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world." - Nelson Mandela
Every single donation is so welcome, no matter how small, your donations will contribute to laptops, computers and the access I will need to provide the education these woman need to start a business that would change their lives, and possibly the poverty levels in our country.
Lots of love, Melissa
