Emily’s startup business, food vendor

I love to cook and I love to garden. Bingo, I am ready to do what I love for a living. I intend to start a food vending business that serves homemade healthy delicious food. I would like to supply as many of my own ingredients as possible. I will grow as much of the herbs and vegetable as I can. I would like to convert a vintage airstream trailer into a food vending front, as so many others have done. I have worked in the restaurant/catering business for many years, and am ready to take the steps to be able to work for myself. I have a certified catering kitchen available that I can rent, I also have land to work with for the herbs and vegetables. All other food supplies I will do my best to source locally. I aslo would like to equip the trailer with solar panels as to be a sustainable business.       I worked on a successuful organic vegetable farm for a year as an intern. I feel this greatly enhanced my skills as a small farmer. My inspiration for this business venture is a friend named Jess who was a former intern at the farm. Jess started a food vending service at the farmers market each Saturday. I often helped her with food preparation and vending. Her first year was a smashing sucess! People do want real homecooked food when they are out and about. I would like to target white water kayaking and hiking festivals in the south.
