The United Photographic Artists Gallery needs your support to become a flourishing creative outlet for emerging artists!

From its initial concept a few months ago, UPA Gallery is rapidly progressing towards its market launch in a few weeks. The founding members have seriously invested in this unique venture, both financially and with a substantial amount of specialized labor.

We still need to raise funding for a high-end e-commerce website, marketing, some basic business supplies and software.

As a cooperative endeavor supporting an expanding variety of emerging photographic artists that are committed to the excellence of the medium with intellectually solid concepts and classic techniques, we need the financial support of our friends, families and acquaintances to make this venture take full flight.

UPAG will fulfill a niche in the developing market of high quality photographic art with a resolved business model of careful invitations to qualified artists, curated images, in-depth analysis of retail pricing for every limited edition photograph offered, and effectively gallery representation for some artists. The UPA Gallery is now a fully legal business with an L.L.C. status and five founding members. Your donations are not tax deductible to us, but supportive of our mission statement, the advancement and representation of emerging artists through an exclusive gallery of limited edition photographic works.

The United Photographic Artists Gallery is committed to the advancement and representation of emerging artists through an exclusive gallery of limited edition photographic works. UPAG supports the education, income, and creative progress of emerging artists via an internet-based format as well as on ground seminars and gallery openings.

Who we are

The United Photographic Artists Gallery, LLC began its journey in late 2013. Formed by a diverse group of accomplished photographic artists, the founders sought a new path for their work to reach the eyes of the public. Created by artists, for the discerning eye of the of those that seek to possess the exclusive and the extraordinary.

Meet the founders

Pierre Dutertre possesses a uniquely broad and all-embracing background in an exceptionally varied career. Born in France and educated within prestigious universities in Paris, he has obtained an advanced degree in nuclear physics alongside a Masters in French Literature. He would later serve as a carrier-based combat pilot over central Africa in the 1970’s. Following this diverse path, he went on to become a photojournalist where he became engaged in the African Continent’s decolonization conflicts. Afterwards, he began a thirty-five year career in the commercial and advertising fields of photography spanning Paris, London and the U.S. Pierre has won an array of awards and recognition in these fields. This eventually led him down a career path in professional and college level education alongside his work as an accomplished commercial photographer. During his years as an educator, he embarked toward a new direction into fine art photography, where his work is focused presently. His photographic art, darkly influenced by his personal experiences in war, has attracted the attention of galleries as well as private and corporate collectors. Most recently, Pierre was awarded a Masters in Fine Arts summa cum laude.

Cathy Dutertre’s creative world is one driven by colors, shapes and the immense beauty of the natural world. Her deep compassionate attitude for humankind drives her artistic and commercial endeavors. As a committed visual artist, the world and its varied inhabitants become the canvas for her creative expressions. Cathy’s extensive experience as an educator in the medium and providing active services to The American Society of Media Photographers have all led her to the immense realm of fine art imagery as a personal outlet of expressiveness on multiple levels. She recently embarked into studies for a Masters of Fine Arts after completing her Bachelors in Fine Arts. These accomplishments have allowed her to combine the medium of photography with design and intellectually driven concepts.

Lindsey Welch first delved in into the art when seeking a therapeutic distraction from a stressful situation. Not expecting to ever take it up as a career, she found herself attending college for photography several years later. Lindsey has spent much of her life on the move and has lived in many diverse places as a result. This combined with an earlier background in computer sciences has allowed her to have a unique vision expressed in her works. Combining the love of things both organic and technological, her passion has culminated in the medium of digital photography, which welcomes both loves in its expression. Lindsey holds a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Photography and is currently attending courses to pursue a Masters of Fine Arts.

William Glover served the USA for twenty years while in the United States Air Force. He discovered photography as a passion in 2007. He later moved to Florida where he decided to attend formal training in the medium. This is where William set his site on the fine arts. Using the love of the Florida seascapes, he had found his muse. The thrill of traveling, exploring and discovering places to photograph is a massive part of his process and has become a lifelong passion. He holds an Associate of Science degree in Photography, and is currently attending classes for a further degree in Design.

Kathleen Cunningham is a young and aspiring fine art photographer. Her passion for photography has led her to pursue an education in the field and to grow as an artist. Much of her work represents an abandonment of civilization, while some of her work demonstrates beauty in the ordinary. She searches for shapes, form and light when creating her imagery. The influence and exposure to the extra-ordinary that she would find in formal training have helped her to grow and develop a unique style that has allowed her immersion into the world that is fine art photography. She is the proud recipient of a Bachelors of Fine Arts Degree in Photography.
