Edwin Corbett,

"As strong as a lion" has always been his catchphrase.

My stepfather has recently suffered a stroke that has affected both the left and right sides of his brain. This unexpected medical event has plunged our family into a period of uncertainty and challenge.

Currently, he is receiving care at Steve Biko Hospital in Pretoria, where a dedicated team of medical professionals is working tirelessly to help him on his path to recovery. However, we are well aware that this journey will be long and demanding, both emotionally and financially.

The primary objective of this fundraiser is to gather the necessary funds to sustain our household during this difficult time. This includes covering day-to-day expenses, such as groceries, rent or mortgage payments, medical bills, and the essential utilities like water and electricity. Edwin has always been the backbone of our family, providing for both my mother and himself, and his absence from work has left a significant gap in our finances.

While we are fortunate to have the support and love of our extended family and friends, we understand that the financial burden ahead is substantial.
