EDURAISER

I am Xolisa Nkwamza from Ngqusi location in Kentani, Eastern Cape, South Africa. I have completed my Matric in 2014 at Donda she Senior Secondary School, and then in 2015 I went to University of Fort hare to do Bachelor of Science where I major ed in Geology and Chemistry, I did honour in Geology funded by National Research Foundation (NRF) and now I am busy with honours in Metallurgy at the University of Pretoria. I do not have funding for this year and rent is not affordable and I am trying by all means to survive. To me, life so far has been a quest for a better way of living, not just only environmentally, physically and intellectually but moreover financially. Being raised up in a rural area and in a lower-middle-class family, with no graduates, I grew up experiencing a ton of shortcomings and no motivations. However, I could not stop praying for better days and could not even adjust with this fate of mine and got along with it and stopped dreaming for a shinier future. By the way of contrast, the desire to prosper grew more day by day. In that manner, I came to understand that education is the only remedy. Moreover, I found an inner peace in studying which help me to focus on the future and forget about my background situation. Knowledge is the key and has given me the confidence to survive in this world. Being academically sufficient to manage a job is the sole way to make a living for a family like mine. To this extent, I wish to educate myself from any leading Metallurgy institution in this prosperous country. Every dream comes with an opportunity cost and for me, the price of fulfilling my dreams seems to be in vain without the help of GOGETFUNDING support. Although the quality of good education is expensive, yet I dream to change the condition of my family and my community. While dreaming about achieving my educational and personal goals, all these constraints seem obsolete. I want to be a scholar and worthy child of my family, lastly a global citizen of this world. Being a steward of Earth’s resource and environment, I guess the quality of helping people be in my blood. Serving the surrounding community through my knowledge and experience is also another thing that I wish to do. I want to work with youth to guide them properly. I believe there are great potentials in young people that can change the course of their life and the surrounding people. I plan to establish a new program for youth in Kentani that will teach all the communities about the importance of education, this program will engage in counselling the young minds and help them find their passion in life. This establishment will also work as their motivation and help them develop their skills and everything else that takes to succeed. It is quite hard to start this program now as I am not successful, have done nothing at both at home and in my community. This planned dream comes through the recognition that the success of youth can stem from a number of things such as motivations, good attitude, excellent work ethic, great time management and many more. Among these measures I will serve as a mentor bred and raised from the same area, I will steer them up in the right direction as they approach different and challenging crossroads in life. This program will be free of cost and start from primary right through to workplace.
