Last year when my grandmother died, my father travelled to Syhlet in Bangladesh. He was devastated by the condition of my grandmother's village school which is a run down hut made of unstable slabs of wood and tin. It has no windows, no running water, let alone desk or chairs. These poor conditions cannot provide the children in the village a basic education. Before my grandmother passed away she left £3000 towards the improvement of the school, however, this is not enough. I would like to raise more money in order to make a difference to the 50 children (aged 4-11) that attend the school by setting up this fundraising campaign. As a 17 year old who has been through the English education system I clearly recognize that education is the door to freedom, democracy and progress in society. Your money will help to extend classrooms, refurbish the school building, purchase sturdy desks, chairs and stationary. It will also ensure the school has clean running water and segregated toilets. When giving to this charity, the size of your donation directly correlates with the number of children you are able to help. Even a small donation can have the potential to drastically improve a child's quality of life.
Thank you for your help, Sabrina.
