Volunteer seamstresses, knitters, crocheters and other skilled makers like myself provide much needed comfort packs containing baptismal and funeral clothing for babies who are lost to stillbirth, miscarriage and premature birth throughout the UK

Packs are provided free of charge to bereaved parents through hospitals. Shockingly there is no provision for this much needed baby clothing other than through voluntary donations. Gowns are supplied for babies from 16 weeks gestational age through to full term. Pretty wraps and Pockets are supplied for babies under 16 weeks.

A pack may vary in content based on which organisation is providing it, but typically there will be at least gown, a bonnet, a nappy, booties and a blanket.

Gowns and nappies are often made from charitably donated wedding dresses and formal wear. Blankets, hats & booties are knitted or crocheted. All items are made by volunteers and all are made with love.

It would be wonderful to eventually supply every hospital in Britain with enough comfort packs for every parent who loses their angel.

This fund has been started so that all angel baby gown volunteers can be supplied with buttons, yarn, ribbon, thread, lace, fleece, snap fastenings and the whole host of other things. The cost of these is mostly met by the volunteers. If enough money is raised we could also buy gown fabric so that angel gowns can be made continuously and not just when a donated wedding gown is available.

All donations most gratefully received with heartfelt thanks.
