Dreaming To Reality

I am setting up my campaign to help me start my non- profit organization "James's Angel". I have worked in the healthcare field for thirteen years; I have seen a lot and wanted to do and give even more. The angel in me has always had the passion to help others from a very young age. Two years ago I had a dream of starting a non-profit that would cater to all aspects of Childhood Oncology.

Although I have not personally experienced this situation with a child or their families I did lose my father to a form of Cancer when I was two years old. He has been gone for thirty one years and yet he is still my biggest motivator in this area and also one of the main reasons I chose to help this age group. My main goal is to be able to help thousands of families financially, emotionally and physically.

Currently less than 5% of federal funding goes to the research for childhood cancer and only one drug has been developed which has protocols that haven't been updated in the past thirty years. I want to help fund researchers and the development of new drugs and ultimately a cure for the many types of pediatric cancer. I have and will continue to support other organizations and hospitals like Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, St. Jude's Hospital and Alex's lemonade Stand.

Being able to give is an amazing feeling but I want to help on a larger scale. I want to do the leg work, host events annually and see the faces of the patients and families that I have helped. I am committed to my dream and have started planning my first two day event taking place in September of 2016 in Atlanta, Ga
