Eye of the Dragonfly – Short Film

Hello everyone!

We are a team of graduating final year students from LASALLE College of the Arts, Puttnam School of Film and Animation. Currently, we are the midst of the pre-production of our thesis short films, which thereafter would lead to our BA(Hons) graduation ceremony.

Eye of the Dragonfly is a period film set in 1980s Singapore. It is a tale of a mother-daughter relationship revolving around Karra, a member of a secret society that is loosely styled around the ideals of the Red Butterfly gang of Singapore in the 1960s.

Karra faces a juncture in her life, as the trajectory of the times will decide the fate of her own family - or the other forged in blood.

This thesis film has been in pre-production since July 2022 and production is chartered to begin in February of 2023.

Our Request

With the premise of 1980s Singapore, there is rich culture and authenticity we want to portray in our film. We are looking to raise $3000 SGD in order to fund our film and elevate the quality in our film in many ways!

• Actor fees to evoke grounded, realistic performances of 1980s Singapore - where language is fluid and interchangeable
• Purchasing historically accurate props and materials
• Stunt and Choreography fees for quality work conducted by professional stuntmen
• Transportation fees for food and equipment

For exceedingly generous contributions to our film, we would like to offer a private screening session once the film has completed, as well as a trip down to set during production for an exclusive behind-the-scenes viewing.
