My poor baby girl has had a very rough life. Now Lymphoma is threatening to take her away from me after only 1 year 9 months. She's a tough girl, she just needs some help to fight it away!

My husband and I are a Military couple; we were married while stationed in Korea. While we were there we fell in love with the most adorable little puppy. We rescued our puppy, Gaegogi, when she was only 4 weeks old. A week after we got her she got very sick. She wouldn't eat or drink and stopped being the playful energetic girl she was all week. She was showing all the symptoms of Parvo, and we didn't know if she was going to make it; in fact, the vet advised us to prepare for the worst.

Our strong baby girl spent three long days at the vet, getting pumped full of nutrients, medicines, and fluids. She pulled through, but she still wouldn't eat. The vet suggested that we feed her chicken baby food. For the first 5 months of her life our little girl was literally our baby.

Everything went back to normal, and when we got back to the states she got to meet her older brother DaVinci that we got in Italy. He taught her how to eat wet food, then eventually regular dog food. All was wonderful! Our pups were getting along great and they even team up when we have other dogs as company, but things turned grim in March.

We first noticed one bump, which turned into two, which turned into 4. We took her to the vet and had all kinds of tests done on her. She took too many pills that only helped for a week before everything got worse. Fast forward: two vets later and 100+ bumps all over her body. We just got the results from the biopsy today - Lymphoma. Yet again, our vet advised us to prepare for the worst, she tells us they usually give a time frame of 4 months after the first bump forms, but it's been more than 5 months, and she's still fighting. The bumps don't seem to bother her, but she did lose most of her energy again. She eats well and drinks enough, she's not giving up any time soon, and neither are we!

This is where we need your help. We've spent so much money in the last few months trying to find out what's wrong with her; we just don't have enough to go much longer. I haven't had enough time with my sweet little girl to let her go so soon. If we could raise the money to see an Oncologist and get the right treatment for our little one, I know she'll beat it.

If you've ever said goodbye to a pet too soon in their life, I beg you to reach into your heart and give us whatever help you can. If you can't give money, we understand times are tough. All we ask is that you please pass this message along to everyone you know.

Any extra money we raise will go straight to another fundraiser. We want to help others just like you're helping us!

Bumps...

Update posted by pehnis at 12:08 pm

Well the week ended with Gaegogi's bumps returning. We got another Chemo pill to give her, but the bumps didn't go away again. She's still got some energy, so it's not back to what she was before, but not as much. We gave her another chemo pill yesterday; it always. . . . .

Update posted by pehnis at 01:00 am

We have some wonderful news!! Gaegogi received her first treatment of Chemotherapy. We were warned that this could make her worse and lose her within the month or make her better and keep her around for at most 15 months. I am happy to report that within three days almost. . . . .

  • We can only pray that Gogi gets the medical care she needs and the miracle so deserved. Mark lost his dog tragically earlier this year and still hurts from his loss. We are sending all our love!
