Dominick’s Disney Trip

 I'm writing you on behalf of my son, Dominick. Dominick (Dom) has been facing the challenges of chronic steroid resistant nephrotic syndrome and associated therapies.  Nephrotic syndrome is a set of signs or symptoms that may point to kidney problems.Healthy kidneys keep protein in the blood, which helps the blood soak up water from tissues. But kidneys with damaged filters may leak protein into the urine. As a result, not enough protein is left in the blood to soak up the water. The water then moves from the blood into body tissues and causes swelling. Many of us you have seen Dom go through his treatments, and endure years of health issues, all the while keeping a smile on his face. He endures the pain, the fluctuations in weight, missing school, countless nights in the hospital, yet he asks for very little. Dom was recognized by his medical team, for his bravery and determination, and they are rewarding him with a trip to Disney World in October. This is a wish fulfilled for him. Although this is a great opportunity for him to be able to have a much needed getaway from his medical issues, it is expensive. Our flights, hotel, and tickets for Disney are covered, however we will need spending money while on the trip. We are hoping to raise enough funds to give Dom the experience of his lifetime.
