I have found assisting the underserved in the role of a Social Worker to be intrinsically rewarding. To become a leader in my field I completed a Doctorate of Social Work, and I chose the trailblazer in the development of this degree, University of Pennsylvania, to receive further training. The DSW was paid for via student loans, and, the amount compares to loans from fields like medicine and law that yield much higher salaries. I have made myself eligible for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program by joining the Veterans Administration. However, my monthly income-based repayment obligation and lowered credit score wholly affected by the student loan burden continue to be challenging to navigate. At 42, I am attempting to move on to the next chapter in my life (getting married, buying a home), and I appreciate any help you can provide. Thank-you for reading.
