This is a Fundraiser to help Nadina Monroe, one victim of many. A local motel is forcing residents to move, bc of the opportunity to rent these hotel rooms, to visitors for the Democratic National Convention. The Convention, taking place the first week of September has caused hotels to drastically raise rates, as it's reported we will have 50,000 visitors in Charlotte, N.C. that week. Countless others are having their rents raised, but for those who cannot afford it, they are facing homeless shelters for the week.

Nadina Monroe is a hard worker, and student, and has been living in a local hotel room, due to financial issues preventing her from obtaining a lease elsewhere. She has been residing in the same room for two months, but has been notified that because it has not been three months, she is to leave for the first week of September, so they can collect higher rates for the DNC event. She has nowhere to go, and her only option is a homeless shelter.

Our local news in Charlotte, reached out to this young lady, and I was touched by her story on TV. I'd like to help Nadina not only avoid a homeless shelter, but also get into her own home, so that she is not forced to deal with such harsh treatment, from greedy motel owners.

The DNC is great for Charlotte, and brings many great things, but we also must realize that people in tough financial positions, are suffering because of it as well.
