Disabled Seniors to be Evicted

My husband and I are disabled seniors within days of being evicted!  We are hoping to buy some time, but have no guarantees.  We have nowhere to go, our savings are depleted, and we have been refused or ignored by every public and private organization to whom we have turned for either cheaper housing or rent assistance.  There is no family to whom to turn.

We moved to a year-round warm location a number of years ago, primarily for my husband's health.  We both firmly believe that the climate has kept him out of a wheelchair, though he could be there in the foreseeable future.  He is unable to work due to degenerative joint disease and chronic pancreatitis, but I am actively trying to find a job, despite my own health issues.

Our problem right now is an IMMEDIATE need to keep a roof over our heads.  We are desperate and frightened, and feel that caring individuals are now our only hope.  We have begun to seriously believe that seniors, especially disabled seniors, are simply considered expendable.
