I have had two, month long hospital stays.During my first hospital stay, I was diagnosed with Frontotemporal Dementia which is an uncommon disorder of the brain. There is no cure and the disorder only gets worse with time.At this point in time, I became 100% disabled. It was during my second hospital stay that my condition deteriorated to the point that my doctor told me that I need to get my financial affairs in order.
The Mayo Clinic which is a leading research hospital describes my disorder as follows:
Frontotemporal dementia (frontotemporal lobar degeneration) is an umbrella term for a diverse group of uncommon disorders that primarily affect the frontal and temporal lobes of the brain. In frontotemporal dementia, portions of these lobes atrophy or shrink. Signs and symptoms vary, depending upon the portion of the brain affected.
Because of my prognosis, I have begun playing the guitar, and studying music as a form of music therapy. However, at this point in time, I have hit a road block with my guitar playing skills and I am looking for a guitar teacher.
Guitar lessons cost approximately $65 per week or $280 per month plus miscellaneous supplies of approximately $20. Annually, this is about $3,800.
My goal is to continue my Music Therapy which has improved the quality of my life.I cannot raise this money on my own and I need your help in achieving this goal.
