Diapers and Formula for Orphanage in Romania

I am currently preparing to leave on a four month humanitarian trip to Romania where I will be volunteering in an orphanage.

Many of the children I will be working with have severe disabilities and illness. Most of them do not have the opportunity to have one-on-one interaction with someone who can care for and love them. Due to the many physical challenges they face, they spend a lot of time at the hospital where they do not always have the basic necessities and care that they need.

Volunteers that have also served in these orphanages have expressed to me the dire need for diapers, formula, and other basic care items for the children while they are in the hospital. Often times Volunteers are denied access to the children if they do not bring these items with them, which means that the children not only go without but do not get to have a visit from someone who will hold them and play with them. Healing is so much more than medicine and these children benefit greatly from a friendly face and attention from someone who loves and cares about them.
