Desi Dhamaka Raises $$ for Girl Up

We are Desi Dhamaka, a group at the University of Washington showcases South Asian culture but also is dedicated to helping people in low-resource communities. This year, we are supporting Girl Up, a campaign partnered with the United Nations that supports women and children in Liberia, Guatemala, Ethiopia, Malawi, India, and Uganda. Girl Up helps girls stay in school, provides resources for them to gain and maintain access to healthcare, protects them from gender-based violence, provides opportunities for them to build themselves and gain economic freedom, and documents them at birth to improve their representation in society.
