I had always been a struggling student. But I am not alone. I believe that education excellence is a big contributor to social mobility, especially for students from low income families with inadequate financial support to help them attain the right teachers and content. Certainly some might argue that excellence in former education is not a pre-requisite to success in life, but for students in low income families, we tend to forget that these students have fewer opportunities to succeed in life than us. Some may already have inherited huge financial burdens and their constant worries splits their time and focus, making it even harder to excel in anything.
This fundraising is for supporters who know what is like to struggle in school, or can understand what it is like to have no support available to them.
We decided to create change. With our technical expertise, we launched a online service to help students to get help from tutors that are available on the platform. By using live-streaming technology, we are enabling students from anywhere connect to suitable tutors to help them in their academics.
I decided to put my own education in university on hold, and to focus on helping students from all around Southeast Asia to help them get access to a suitable teacher that may be out of reach.
The first phase of our plan will be to build up a community of tutors.
From our short launch, we discovered that tutors are pricing classes at lower rates.
