Decorating living room

Hello there,

My name is Matthew, I'm 36 years old. I have a son called Rowan who is 3 years old and a partner who is 40 years old.

We pay a mortgage, and spend out on 3 day of childcare each month. This leaves us just enough to pay for the weekly food shop and a few pounds to buy something for our little boy Rowan.
Its really tough because we have a 1980's semi detached house and can not afford to decorate the house for a few years. Its horrible staring at the same wallpaper, the same bodged jobs that were left here from the last people. I would be eternally grateful if people could help us out. We would love us to be able to plaster the rooms, replace the dangerous fireplace in the living room and do the job properly rather than skimping on work because we don't have the money to do a nice job. We are driving round in 2 crappy cars and cannot afford to update them. We literally have no loans apart from an 18 pound a month boiler. We don't claim benefits. we work very hard.
