Decide our Future

This is not only about me, it is also about you and your power of changing the balance between mediocrity and originality in or country and maybe this world. My music may not be familiar to you compared to what plays in TV or in the radio today do to lack of similarity. In fact most radio stations are not playing what we want or what we like, except some public or college radio stations. For that very reason we get tired turning the dial or changing channels, to find something nice and maybe different for a change. Most radio stations are owned and operated by record companies or media corporations promoting the same clone artists they invested in over and over. It is a fact that most artists dedicated to create art, daring to be different had and have a very hard time making them selves known. Some of these artists could be or maybe are your friends, neighbors and most cases members of your family who doesn't fit society standards, if you one of this people welcome to my world. Unless you have a lot of money to hire a professional radio promoter with a proven record you don’t stand a chance regardless how great you are. Unfortunately the “The fast food restaurant” business model has been adopted in the music business also, many years ago. Record companies, radio stations, most music industry executives, including DJ’s are interested in “Fast and safe music solutions” promoting and selling what sounds alike or look alike. The funny part is that you can’t even blame them, do to their limited musical educational exposure and mainly their lack of confidence in taking risks. However I’m loving this, for me its nothing more exciting then overcoming great challenges going against all odds. It is part of my existence and I would not know what to do with my self or how to react if something will be handed to me. That’s what makes your music have a soul, the struggling efforts of bring it to life. Now since I've got your attention let me tale you how I've started. I know you’re curious and probably encountered same situation with your business. Here I am, a middle age man tired of hearing negative people telling me that I’m kind of old to do my music, that I have no experience in the entertainment business and all kind of other encouraging stuff. I heard that all my life any single time I wanted to do something, if I would of listen to all these people I probably would of became an honorable member of their gossip club. I do believe in the order of priorities and music like any other passion should become a main or second profession when you are prepared and really have or create the opportunity to do it. Except my late wife my family and close friends who new my music passion everybody else was trying to pass their insecurities on me. I guess most people are like that, they wont appreciate or recognize your potential until they see you acclaimed by others whom in most cases are actually professionals or experts in that field. Yes I was pretty much ok, I had a successful construction business, owned a home, a restaurant, raised an awesome family but everyday I felt like God was looking down on me for wasting the talents he blessed me with. “We all get a job or choose a profession in order to provide, spending most time of our lives believing we are going in the right direction. In my case the right direction, was similar to most responsible people direction. Proudly support and take care of the loved ones, except taking care of what I was mint to do and leave behind. Learning to read the messages behind the circumstances, I understood that in most situations is not important what we do but to make important what is completing us. Regardless how well we’re integrated in society, the only thing completing us it’s fallowing our direction in life. We are going crazy for years trying to find it, spending our lives at the mercy of chance. How are we going to find our direction in life if we don’t even know what to look for? If you don’t know I’ll share this with you. The truth is, all of us are born with a direction in life and that is our God given talents, all you have to do is find your talent than let your passion direct you to your completion.” This paragraph I've just quoted is part of my book that I’m working on called “Divine Identity” but I will let you know when is ready if you interested. Now time lets get back to what we are here for. One day the wave of confusion and media’s art of elevating the average at the level of sensational excellence got to me, I guess. Than I've decided to let people know I exist and very able to deliver something worthy of their intellect. This wasn't easy, after almost one year of searching I found and hired what I was looking for. An awesome producer with classical music background, Vlado “Jazzy” Kolenic who understood that my originality was above sounding like anyone out there. That was the first time ever walking into a real recording studio. Since my wife’s health was going bad and the economy turned at the worst possible time I was ready to forget the all thing and postponed like I always did. At my wife insistence I moved on hoping to bring her some joy. With all that going on my money become funny and in spite of all my homework, I did not anticipated how expensive could be for musicians to produce their music. Therefore I couldn't effort more than one-hour studio time also 2 or 3 takes for each song. I've written over the year’s tone of music from classical to modern genres without the opportunity to actually produce it until created somehow by circumstances. I wanted my music to stand out and be recognized as work of art, providing for people that identify emotionally with the stories in my songs a visual experience. What is the point of creating something with no meaning, no use and no originality? If we can’t do that mind as well become critics. My first album “American Romance” was produced after few weeks the way I wanted. All the music styles represent a sample of my potential. I was happy to finally write and sing the story of my childhood friend “Mambo” a great dancer who lost everything do to a love deception. The “Waiting in the darkness” times had motivated me to find that light of hope and share it trough music with all the ones looking for their direction, I was excited to dedicate the surprise song “A glass or two of wine” to my wife as a reminder of our romantic funny moments. “I never had a chance to tell you” is in memory of my father, also many of you who lost dear ones far away from you without the chance of letting them what they represented in your life. “Free spirit” represents me and most likely many of you born with the vision of a better world. All my songs have a purpose, represents a circumstance, a part or experience of my life. To see and hear everything that was only in your mind coming to life and have a finished product in your hands represented a tremendous feeling of accomplishment. You don’t know what you have until other people react to your product, especially people who doesn't know you. Doing what we like and what it comes naturally it is easy. Taking our product to promotion, marketing and distribution it is a totally different business that can destroy anyone’s dream. I guess God used my passion for music so I can help others, knowing that my motivation to succeed is far greater than any obstacles created by man, and if that is the case I want to thank God for the confidence, I’m honored.
