Breaking Barriers: All-inclusive American Sign Language Dog Training E-Course

In production - the first ever comprehensive dog training and behavior e-course in American Sign Language! The e-course will include a variety of modules and DIY videos that anyone can benefit from; the entire course will be in American Sign Language, with English voiceover, audio for our hearing friends, and accessibility features like closed captioning! Videos will vary to cover step-by-step modeling on what it means to train with positive reinforcement, how to train your dog to respond reliably to fool-proof basic foundational skills (sit, down stay, etc), teaching advanced cues, understanding reactivity and aggression in our canine companions, how to address reactivity and meet their needs, enrichment ideas, training tools and how to choose these tools, and even more. The course will include downloadable PDF's , handouts, posters, and other resources that clients can print and use at home.

Working with animals and their humans has always been one of my innermost passions. My journey to becoming a certified dog trainer has been well worth it, while also riddled with challenges and obstacles. I am a Deaf dog trainer, and there are limited high quality resources out there about positive reinforcement in the dog training world. Not only limited resources, but limited opportunities for Deaf community members to work with dog trainers in an accessible format. There is a huge gap between the Deaf world and access to dog training materials and services. My mission with this project: "Where there's an absence, create presence." I plan to bridge that gap with my new project and I would LOVE your support. The project will be about $40k, and the funds raised will bring to life this comprehensive e-course, crafted in collaboration with Thrive Course Studios. This dynamic team of professionals will help me create engaging content accessible to all, regardless of hearing ability.
