"Pravda Vítězí" The national motto of the Czech Republic – "Truth Wins". But unfortunately, sometimes it takes time. My personal fight has been wending its way through the Czech justice system for the last 8 years. What started out as a mundane complaint against a mundane private equity firm that had misappropriated and misused information I had shared with them is now awaiting the deliberations of the Supreme Court (Nejvyšší soud). A long and financially draining journey.
It is a sad truth that incompetence and corruption are a continuing problem within the Czech justice system. Numerous international organisations produce regular status reports on the fight against corruption in the Czech Republic and the following extract from a recent report published by GAN Integrity is typical - though possibly understated: "There is a moderate risk of corruption when dealing with the judiciary. Bribes and irregular payments in return for favourable judicial decisions are common. Corruption within the judiciary is said to be “very sophisticated”, making it hard to detect"
I have lived in the Czech Republic for 25 years – my adopted home and a country I have come to love. And so a personal quest for justice has now taken on a much greater dimension: a fight against the iniquities of the Czech justice system. If you would like to understand the origins of my complaint, why I believe I have been atrociously treated, the current state of affairs, and to read about future developments as and when they happen, please visit and subscribe to my blog: www.not-the-Genesis-Capital-you-know.com
In the meantime, if you would like to join me in my fight for truth and to help me show that the Czech national motto is not just a couple of meaningless words, any contribution to my future legal expenses will be very greatly appreciated.
