When I was 5 years old, I wanted to be a ballet dancer, I doodled pictures of ballerinas in my journal and imagined what it would be like to be on a stage. A year later and I wanted to be astronaut… actress… singer… it went on like this until I was 16 and finally decided that what I really wanted to be was a designer and that my dream school was Vega. Suddenly all the doodling made sense.
I completed my first year as a digital design student at Vega Design School in 2020. I started the year like many of us, not expecting COVID 19. My mom, a single mother of two, lost her business during covid and has been unemployed since. This all happened just as I began studying and to keep in school, we have had to rely on the help of friends and family.
2020 was a challenging year for me and my family. It has taught me humility and gratitude. Through all the challenges I made the decision to focus on my degree and do my best to excel. I achieved 5 module distinctions in my first year and plan to work even harder this year. Your help would keep my dream alive and give me and my family some peace of mind as we try and get through this difficult time. My studies are my number one priority and if anyone is willing to fund me, I would be most appreciative.
