It doesn’t matter who you ask, whether it’s the parents of a child, a community leader, or a business man looking to hire a new employee, we can all agree that a solid education is the necessity to success. Education can define who we are, it can open up endless opportunities to help one achieve their own great American Dream. "Sadly, Idaho placed 48th out of 50 states in K-12. That’s right Idaho is 48th in the quality of its education system." It is very apparent that Idaho is not on a path to success in the education of its young people. According to dontfailidaho.org:
"Only 35% of 3- and 4- year-old children in Idaho are enrolled in some form of school (pre-school, enriched day care, etc). National average is 48%. Only 56% of Idaho kindergartners were at grade level upon entering kindergarten in the fall of 2011."
Our goal at Country Kids Pre-School and Daycare is to prepare young children for kindergarten. We are passionate about education and believe that being prepared for kindergarten is a child’s first step in being successful in education and in life.
The owner’s, Brittany Clement and Macee Cole, are both students at Boise State University majoring in Elementary Education. They both grew up in New Plymouth, Idaho and feel like it is their duty to step up in the community to provide an excellent facility for children to learn and grow. As parents they have tried to find appropriate pre-school for their children and ran into serious problems. 1. The New Plymouth Elementary Pre-School program only accepts children with disabilities. 2. The Head Start Program (the only pre-school that offers transportation) only allows children in a specific financial situation to enroll. 3. There are a very limited amount of pre-schools currently enrolling students in the city of New Plymouth. How can this be? What are other parents doing in regards to this issue? They quickly learned that many other parents feel stuck as well, and some have even resorted to teaching their kids at home even though they don’t feel it’s the best possible education for their child. There is an overwhelming need for adequate pre-school in the city of New Plymouth, Idaho and they plan on doing something about it.
Brittany and Macee’s plan is to open a pre-school and daycare on Plymouth Avenue in New Plymouth, Idaho. In order to do this they need to slightly renovate a building to make it safe, functioning, and fun. The purpose of this business plan is simply asking for support from the community by way of donations, investments, and/or supplies to get Country Kids Pre-School and Daycare up and running.
