This year I am going to Costa Rica for 5 weeks as an add on to my university course, where I will be carrying out vital conservation work on turtles in Ostional reserve as well as undertaking Spanish lessons during this time. Following this I will be flying straight to Peru where I will be spending 6 weeks studying three species of monkeys in the Pacaya-Samiria Reserve in the Amazon rainforest for my dissertation project with Operation Wallacea!
This experience is of vital importance to me as I am hoping to pursue a career in animal conservation abroad therefore not only will I have fantastic experience to stand out on my CV, but whilst I’m out there I will make vital contacts needed in this career. Furthermore the Spanish lessons I will be taking whilst in Costa Rica will enable me to communicate with locals as the main language spoken across Central and Southern America is Spanish, and these are the areas I would most love to work in. Additionally Costa Rica has been a country which has fascinated me for a long time with 99% of its energy being supplied by renewable and energy and is a country of outstanding beauty and peace!
I am currently struggling to raise the massive funds for these two projects totalling over £6,000 however I do not want to drop one was as they are both my dreams and think there is no point putting things off or waiting as I might never get these amazing opportunities again. That is why I am currently working two jobs whilst carrying out my studies to raise the money. Sadly my Grandad recently passed away but the money he left he has inspired me to push myself to reach my target. So far I have earned and saved a total of £2,500 and have an overdraft of £1,500 to fall back on. But as you can see this still puts me a long way off my target and only a few months left to raise this money.
Therefore I need your help! Any donation would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you so much, hope you have a nice day and your dreams come true too!
