Conservation in Peru

I will be heading to Peru's Amazon Rainforest in November 2014 to volunteer on a conservation project, working to help the area recover from previous disturbances. In order to help the area recover, I will be researching a variety of birds, mammals, reptiles, amphibians and butterflies, working on an animal release program, working on a turtle breeding program and helping the local people with their farming.

The continual growth of the human population around the world makes preserving the earth's biodiversity more important than ever. This is a fantastic opportunity for me to not only help the various animals in the rainforest, but also to help the local people live sustainably.
