First of all, a massive thank you to all of those who sponsored me for my first challenge- the Brutal 10. Offline, I raised an extra £165 in generous donations from those at my school and sixth form.

My next event is to be on June 6th at Dorney Lake and this time, it is to be a colour run; 5km of dried paint alongside many obstacles and inflatable slides. The tough part of this challenge comes from the ascent of each obstacle, but it is sure to provide a wealth of enjoyment also. My aim is also to complete this in 45 minutes or less.

The first deadline of payment is to be May 1st 2015, so not far away now, but I am pushing to carry on fundraising after this date constantly, due to the fact that the next few deadlines are only 2 months apart and each asks for a payment of £600. Therefore, it is set to be a tough few months, with exams and huge deadlines on the horizon, but hopefully with the car washes and raffle ticket sales to boost my profits, this will become manageable.

Thank you again to all of those who have sponsored me, and I look forward to updating you further.

Afternoon All,

Yesterday I completed the Brutal 10; a mud run in the Army Driving Training Centre Course in Deepcut. I finished in just under 2 hours, with incredibly cold legs and mud splattered all over me.

During the two hours, I underwent 10 hill climbs and descents; some of which were long, shallow but harsh hills and the rest were incredibly steep sprints. A memorable hill is just before the 3km mark- a brutal uphill ascent that was so steep it cannot be physically run, it must be climbed vertically whilst crawling through deep mud which paves the hill.

Honestly, at the 4km mark, just before I was to cross the line where my family were stood to start my second lap, I was ready to give in. But then I remembered the assembly I had just a few weeks ago with the guest speaker, Bonita Norris, and her words reminded me "to just put one foot in front of the other", so I pushed myself to complete the  full 10km.

And it could not have been more rewarding. The overwhelming cramp as I pushed to trudge through what seemed like endless, waist deep bogs, marshes and "puddles" is all paying off, as soon I will collect in my sponsorship money which will go in the jar in the kitchen with the money I have already raised.

My thanks go out to those who have sponsored me so far and who are making the goal seem a lot more realistic.

My first challenge in the series is happening on February 14th. It's called "The Brutal 10" and entails several mountain climbs, short swims and dips into water over 10km in the Army Driving Training Centre, Bagshot.

This course, as the name suggests, is designed for testing vehicles, but in the overwhelmingly long endurance race, no such modes of transport are allowed; you must run. My friend and I will be attempting to tackle this course over a few hours, and will update you with times etc when I finish.

Hopefully it will spark attention and encourage people to give generously, as taking on such a challenge will be brutal.

Thank you, Sandra. A long way to go yet to 2,600, but your donation is very generous and is setting me in good stead with a positive outlook on all that is to come over the next 18 months. And thank you Faye, your generosity is much appreciated and the target is getting closer and closer now.
