Computer Help for JOMers!

Hello JOM friends!

It has come to our attention that two valued long-time JOM contributors, Miss Marple and jim_nj, are currently in need of technology help. Both are working on computers that are outdated and slow, and this is affecting their ability to stay connected during this tumultuous election season and beyond.

DrJ has kindly offered to put together a new system for each of them, designed according to their specific needs. This requires funds. We are asking JOMers to consider donating toward a robust, long-lasting desktop (or laptop) setup with appropriate software, plus the cost of shipping first to DrJ for assembly/installation, and then out to Miss M and jim when complete.

We are hoping this will help them stay connected both to JOM and to everything/everyone else in their lives.

We would like to keep this project under our hats for the time being, in order to be sensitive to Miss M and jim. If you would like to forward this to someone who might be interested (and please feel free to forward to any JOMers we've missed!), please do, but for now, if possible, we'd like to keep it quiet on JOM proper.

If we aren't able to reach our goal via email and word of mouth, we'll certainly open it up to the larger JOM community.
