On 20th June 2015 I will be spending a month volunteering in Ambalangoda, Sri Lanka with the organisation Plan My Gap Year.
Monday-Friday every week I will be teaching English to children from communities whose lives were affected by the Tsunami, as well as in temples to young Buddhist monks. There are limited educational opportunities for children in Sri Lanka, and the ability to learn and improve their English will increase their chances of getting a job and creating a better life for themselves in the future. I will also be spending some time volunteering in local orphanages, playing with the children and once again helping to improve their English.
Being a student I only work part-time so would appreciate any donations no matter how small! I have already booked my flights and paid a registration fee, so all the money raised will go towards the cost of the project run by PMGY (£430)! Thank youuuu!!
