Community Farm and Home

   I count our family lucky, we picked up and moved to vermont with a broken husband out of work, a mom with no job, three wonderful boys and $50 in our bank acount.  Through a series of unfortunate events that are not unfamilar to many families, we found ourselves having to start over.  So we did, with a stedfast beliefe that the life we would find in VT would be better then what we had.  We found and rented a small home where we are currently living, scrimpted through one tough summer of no employment before we both were able to return to work. When the dust of the stressful 9 previous months settled what we found in this  tiny town, is the place my family belongs. Our lives soon filled up with friends that are more like family, folks who share our values and vision for a simple self sustaining life.   In short we have been blessed to find the one spot on this large Earth that we can for sure call home.

 More then a year has passed and with a solid vision of a small farm we are ready to move forward to purchasing a home and land in Newfane VT.  As fate would have it the home we are interested in buying happens to be on the same road as many of the above  mentioned, amazing  friends and with a strong commitment from them to help set up and run a small farm the Stolpp family is putting out a request.  HELP! We are asking for contributions for a downpayment on the home and property.  Donald and I have worked hard and do have a chunk of money to put down, however it is small and we are in need of putting a larger downpayment for a mortgage.  The idea is for us to to repay any kindness with goods from our farm, or an equal donation to local food pantries and community organizations who help those in need simply, paying it forward.  Uprooting my family was stressful and there were many amazing people who have helped us along the way, and we would like to be able to give back through our farm.
