Colors for My Dad

My name is Talita Prince. I would like to raise funds to purchase a pair

of Enchroma Glasses for my dad, Jan Le Grange. He was born colourblind,

and these glasses will allow him to see a range of colour he could

never see before.

Since I was born my dad was always there for

me. I had Jaundice when I was a baby and he sat by my side for days

straight whilst I was undergoing light therapy, and that was just the

beginning. My dad encouraged me from a young age saying I can be

anything I want to be. What stuck was him telling me his story.

He

was fresh out of school with his career life in front of him. He has

always wanted to be a pilot, so he went through all the tests to see if

he would qualify. Sadly, he was refused - not because of bad grades -

because he was born colourblind. After all the hard work, he could never

follow his dream.

He always told me that story not to

discourage me, but to let me know that I can be all I want to be because

unlike him I have a chance to pursue my dreams.

I always wanted

to give my dad something to thank him for being there. The gift of

seeing colour that we so often take for granted or just don't appreciate

enough... I finally know what I need to give to my dad!
