College Funding

Hey there! My name is Gary Hopper. I am a 20 year old going to be enrolled in the Fall semester of Schenectady County Community College for culinary in the baking concentration. I am making this so then it may be a little easier on me while I am in college. I love to bake and I love to just cook food in general, and I one day hope to open up my own bakery/coffee shop that specializes in vegan treats. I did do a scholasrship that was sponsored by Stewart's Ice Cream Shops and that helped me a bit, and I also am getting financial aid, which will also help. I plan on doing an internship in Troy at X's To O's Vegan Bakery. Doing this internship will help me learn more about cooking vegan and learning all the in's and out's of a bakery shop.

During the summer, I am going to be working three jobs hopefully. One, which I'm at right now, is a coffee shop up in Windham called Higher Grounds which I started working at in February. The other two which are both summer jobs, Riedlbauer's Resort in Round Top, and Zoom Flume Water Park, located in East Durham. I plan on working hard this summer and working seven days a week, just like I worked last summer, except for just having Riedlbauer's Resort and Zoom Flume, I'll have Higher Grounds under my belt as well. I plan to work Riedlbauer's Resort Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday then on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday I wil be working Zoom Flume in the morning until around 2ish and then I'll drive right up to Higher Grounds till 6 closing time.

All I wish to do, is have a little help, even if it's a few dollars here and there, to raise up money for my education. I'll have to buy books, chef hat, knife set, chef coat and pants, and food to survive up in Schenectady. I will also be dorming at their suites, which is right across the road from the college, so that is another money eater that I'll have to get by with.

I hope that this does go through okay and that even a little money donation helps. This not only benefits me, personally, but also helps to get through my education and to show that I can do what I have dreamed to do all my life.
