Cochlear Implants

My name is Muhammad, I am raising funds for my 19-month-old daughter, Nurah Khan. We are from Durban, South Africa.

We are requesting assistance to raise funds for my daughter who is bilaterally impaired and needs implants as soon as possible.

We would really appreciate if we can get funding to implant 1 ear to get her used to sounds.

Nurah was diagnosed in December 2019 and confirmation of diagnosis was made in January 2020 (second opinion) that she presents with a profound sensorineural hearing loss bilaterally,

She has been through 2 ABR scans, 1 MRI scan, and has hearing aid but still no sound.

Reaching my target would mean that Nurah Khan will be able to hear sound for the first time in her life, say her first words, and use speech to communicate in future endeavour’s

The cost of device and Surgery is estimated to be R 342, 048. 71 Nurah will also need Speech Perceptual testing 3 months after the operation and 6 months after as well.

One day Nurah will get a chance to thank you herself for giving her a life changing opportunity.
