Campaign Story
Caregivers
"Hi, my name is Becky and both my husband Chris and I have been caregivers most of our lives. I started this project to fund Chris's cardiac catheterization and possible open heart surgery as well as fund the medical crisis we are currently experiencing. Chris's cardiologist is concerned with his progressively worsening health condition. He wants Chris to be cared for in the next 3-4 months and is concerned that the combination of coronary artery disease, high blood pressure and Chris's previous heart attack in 2008 could be fatal if left unattended.
Chris's lifelong career caring for others ended when he injured his lumbar spine while preventing a patient from falling.
Unfortunately my career as a nurse ended with the progression of my Type 2 diabetes and my open heart surgery in 2012.
The disability funds we are surviving on barely pays for the normal cost of living expenses. The combined health care insurance costs have been pulled from our cost of living budget. We have been unable to afford the co-pay deductibles and medication expenses. The inability to pay for medications and go to the doctor regularly due to the expense has left us in a crisis.
Hope
Throughout this journey of life we have derived hope throughout the relationship with our church. The picture that you see of Chris shows the reason that Chris gets through every day. When Chris had his heart attack this puppy Lady, gave him the strength to get better and lately as Chris's condition has worsened, she has stayed by his side. Chris and I still try to 'Pay It Forward' by volunteering at our local church when health permits.
Urgent Assistance Needed
We are in crisis at the present time. We will be eternally grateful if you can please help us provide for Chris's cardiac catheterization and possible open heart surgery funding as well as, the funding of much needed medications, extra doctor visit costs, as well as additional gasoline and incidental costs due to crisis.
I added a list of rewards in exchange for your contribution, some of these will be handmade by me.
However, I know things are hard for so many people in the current climate so I also understand if it is not possible.
If you can't donate, please help by spreading the word about this fundraiser.
Much Love and Thanks from,
Chris and Becky
