Chosen to represent SA at the world championships

My son, Nicholas, has been participating in Mixed Martial Arts /Karate since the age of 5 (Grade R) at the WMAA organisation in Hoekwil - SA. As he enjoyed it so much, I kept him enrolled since 2012 and made sure he stayed an active participant, not missing any practice, activity or competitions. In March 2015, he obtained a Gold Medal at the SWD classics in George- SA. This qualified him for his South Western District regional colors. In October he was invited to participate and represent SWD at the National championships – Destiny championships.

In Cape Town at the National Championships, He received three medals and was selected to represent South Africa at the world championships in Orlando-USA in July 2016. This event will be a “Live” broadcast on ESPN. Newspaper articles (in the George local news paper) with the Destiny results will follow within the next few weeks as photos were only taken 26^th October 2016.

This is most of the good news....the sad part is as single mother trying to get individual sponsorship for him, is turning out a lot harder than expected. The total amount of money required to make his participation in the tour possible, is standing like a mountain in front of me. I am asking on behalf of my son and me when I say that we will appreciate any form of sponsorship or donation to assist him in continuing further with his sport. Representing his country is a great accomplishment itself, never mind the achievement at his age (or any age). The experiences he will gain (win or lose) will assist him tremendously in the future to grow his Person and his sport and become the best he can be. He has excelled thus far and I wouldn't want his sport to end due to finances.

We, as parents, have to find our own sponsorships for the MMA, and I therefore request that you would consider helping us. As Individuals, not being non-profit organisations, I find it extremely difficult to persuade Companies to become willing to assist with individual sport sponsorships. On my own I am unable to help him with this dream as financially it is not in my power. I hereby plead by you to see if you can find any way to support Nicholas in following his dream of a Gold medal perhaps on American soil! He has grown so much in his sport and also as person.

Nicholas is a very active child, doing tennis, rugby, cricket, swimming, chess, music and MMA. As all these sport activities is an extra financial expense Nicholas has now chosen to stop and postpone all these sports that involve an extra expense. He believes he can in this way save so he can further his MMA. This breaks my heart as he is now forced to keep to minimal sport activities and this still would not save enough for us to get him in to the world championships.

Without your help we will not get him there.
