We need businesses/individuals/churches willing to partner with us monthly or donate ad-hoc. (In ministry, we refer to such people as “Rope Holders.” *)

Hear our hearts.

No one has a choice in life on where, when, and under which circumstances they are born. A child’s circumstances are always a by-product of their upbringing. By partnering with people and organizations who care for the youth of South Africa, we can make a big difference in the lives of such children.

We acknowledge that it can, however, continue. We need to reach out to parents and the wider community as well! Helping a child with a compromised background goes a long way. How much more significant, however, can the life-changing impact be should the parents and other role players be involved?

Vision

Project Restore will change the lives of compromised children and their families fundamentally. Our aim to promote & protect family stability starts with the children but includes the entire family unit. Our heart is for infants and older children – through providing and facilitating healthy, upbuilding, and educational developmental resources and services.

We pursue the above through aid, counselling programs, general care services, and community outreach initiatives.

Mission

We are working very hard to acquire the relevant recourses, aid, material, intellectual property, equipment, means of sustenance (e.g., food, infant care), medicine, blankets, services, and many other elements needed to be able to fulfill our mandate in the interest of compromised children and families. We rely wholly on donations and partnerships to achieve this.

Purpose

Project Restore is all about (1) restoring the soul and spirit of compromised (abandoned, abused, neglected, orphaned, or homeless) children – through providing aid, care, and counselling.

In addition, our Non-Profit – Evangelical Universe NPC’s mandate with Project Restore includes the following:

(2) facilitating youth leadership and development programs and promoting and (3) protecting family stability.

In February 2023, SARS granted us Tax Exemption Status, which means, as a Public Benefit Organisation (PBO), we can issue Section 18A receipts/certificates to donors. (Please refer to the annexure regarding the tax benefits for donors)

Where are we right now?

We are in stage one of our endeavors to take hands with other public benefit organizations and pursue our mission (see above - Mission statement), thus seeking financial support to enable us to move forward.

We need your help to put our plans into action and to enable us to start showing deliverables.

ANNEXURE

*The following info is relevant to South African resident taxpayers only*

Tax benefits/exemptions for donors:

• Donations to the organization will be tax deductible in the hands of the donors in terms of and subject to the limitations prescribed in section 18A of the Act with effect from 16 February 2023.
• Donations made to or by the PBO are exempt from Donations Tax in section 56(1)(h) of the Income Tax Act.
• Exemption from the payment of Estate Duty in terms of section 4(h) of the Estate Duty Act No.45 of 1955.

Evangelical Universe NPC (EU NPC) is Section 18A registered, which means all donations made to EU NPC are fully deductible through your annual income tax submission.

What does Section 18A status mean? Section 18A enables you, the taxpayer (i.e., natural persons, trusts, companies, or close corporations), who has donated to EU NPC, to claim as a deduction from your taxable income amounts donated to EU NPC (an S18A-approved organization) up to a value of 10% of your taxable income. Eligibility is subject to a section 18A certificate issued by EU NPC.

Is Evangelical Universe NPC Section 18A Approved?

Evangelical Universe NPC is an approved institution under section 18(A) of the Income Tax Act, and donations to EU NPC are tax deductible.

Where do I get my Section 18A certificate?

Evangelical Universe NPC will issue Section 18A certificates at the end of the tax year. Such certificates will include any donations made to Evangelical Universe NPC. To ensure that your certificate includes details required by SARS, we will send you a ‘My Details’ form to complete.

Are there any terms and conditions I should be aware of?

• The donation must be bona fide, meaning that nothing can be expected to be given in return for the donation

• The original certificate must be kept safe and available to SARS if requested.

• The Section 18A certificate must have the correct details of the taxpayer

• A taxpayer may not claim both BEE points and a Section 18A tax deduction

How do the Section 18A tax benefits work?

If you deduct donations from your taxable income, you are lowering the total tax due. The reduction depends on your marginal tax rate.

e.g., If your marginal tax rate is 35%, a donation of R1 000 will result in a reduction of R350 in tax payable.
