In April I will be travelling to Bali to spend one month as a childcare volunteer with the charity organisation Plan My Gap Year.
As a volunteer in Bali, I will be working in a childcare centre where I aim to make a positive impact on the local community of Tabanan. Alongside supporting daily care, I will also be organising crafts and creative activities as well as teaching English through songs and music. I will be working with children ranging from 3 months to 8 years old, helping to give them a head start before they begin formal schooling.
In Bali, it can be difficult to afford a high standard of care or education for children, particularly for families in the relentless farming and fishing industries. This heightens the importance of support for struggling families and childcare centres. By complementing the work of local staff members I can ensure that these children receive the attention and support that they deserve.
The funds raised will help towards the program fees and any extra money will be donated to the childcare centre. Any donations made would be massively appreciated, every penny counts!
