ONCE IN A LIFETIME OPPORTUNITY!!!!

Hi everyone, my name is Chanise Naidoo. Some words I would use to describe myself is funny, passionate and an animal lover. I’ve loved animals from a very young age, which is the main reason as to why I would like to become a veterinarian in the future and why I try to help my neighbours by walking their dogs in my free time.

Recently my school has given us the opportunity to go on a trip to Europe, which costs R70 000. The tour, in April 2024, will allow us to go to Italy, France and Switzerland. I would love to go on this tour, but on my own merit. Being able to raise the money on my own will help me practice being independent.

Did you know that that France has 100 000 – 200 000 stray animals compared to the 4.1 million in South Africa? Don’t you wonder why they have such a low number compared to us? Well, that’s why I would be delighted to go on this trip, to have the ability to go to France and see what the French are doing differently to us. Once I learn what they’re doing and how they’re doing it, I’ll be able to bring back the information and implement my ideas into South Africa, to help decrease the shocking number of strays in the country.

Not only will I be able to help the forsaken animals in the country, but if I were to go on this tour, I would be setting an example for the children in South Africa, by seeing me work hard and go to Europe, they would learn that if they set their mind to something, they will be able to achieve it. This will also show them that hard work pays off and that they should never be okay with the idea of being “okay” in life and that they should always strive for better.
