Call 2 Care is a Non-Profit Organization located in Cape Town that improves lives through educational outreach projects and socially conscious events while offering a sustainable end to end service to corporates, government, and the general public.

Born on Heritage Day – the 24th September 2014 – in Cape Town, a group of passionate volunteers and philanthropists came together to host a social outreach event in Khayelitsha’s Baphumelele Children’s Home. Following this event, Call 2 Care's vision was formed: to improve lives through education and make it simple for the public, corporates, and government to make a difference - all expertly packaged in an internship, event and project format that provide beneficiaries with the right tools to empower themselves so to inspire others and positively transform communities.

We have a proven track record of connecting worthy beneficiaries to volunteers, NGOs and corporates to deliver a positive outcome. From improving health and nutrition at hospitals and children's homes, empowering SA's local artists, to implementing water-wise food gardens. Our current focus is to increase the diversity of food and nutrition in underprivileged communities through our proven model for water wise and sustainable food gardening as part of The iGardi Project.

The iGardi Project is a community development program that is focused on ending food insecurity and increasing food diversity. Rather than coming into communities and dropping off food; the iGardi project works by involving the community in making water-wise gardens. By using the educational model of cooperative gardening, Call 2 Care can teach community leaders how to maintain and harvest their garden. These gardens will allow for the communities to grow their own food for years, instead of waiting for more donations. The use of water-wise gardens allows for food production without high cost to the sites and without a huge environmental impact.

The iGardi Project is also a fun and unique way to help increase the diversity of food and nutrition in underprivileged communities through our proven model for water-wise vegetable food gardening that educates and empowers individuals to ensure food security. The iGardi Project hosts a number of educational programs within communities to ensure that anyone is able to grow their own nutritious food sustainably. By connecting volunteer teams, NGOs and providing avenues for investment, we ensure local community involvement, training and build community ownership.
