Nirmal Khatri , co founder of Virtues in Movement , Global- Nepal Team ( VIM Nepal) based in Nepal who is leading the Pandemic fight & making an effort in a small way to help his villagers survive the onslaught of the savage 2nd Covid-19 wave. VIM Global is working across the countries in nurturing common public good through conversation and dialogues and social action projects while its concerns deeply focused on Values, Virtues and Meaningfulness.

Mainstreaming WOMEN’S ECONOMY & Nurturing Community and Collective Living

This project of building chain community homestay in the amidst of the pandemic seems an oxymoron, but we cannot afford to lose this tradeoff in harnessing women’s economy through promoting both domestic tourism at the beginning and then international tourism gradually, once the world started to begin moving with new normalcy in post-covid 19 pandemic society.

Simpani Community Homestay Program was generated at the backdrop of the rural poverty where higher education for young people has remain pipedream and the vicious circle of poverty that has always trapped its citizens for decades and decades. This village is located very close to the city, yet due to the topographical barriers and lack of political leadership has refrained the community from the mainstream of development. The villagers have less than subsistence economies dependent on terrace farming where shortage of modern technology and scientific knowledge has become a barrier in their ladders of economic development.

This program is a trigger and came as a life transforming project of not only present generation but also of coming generation after heavily research and study with a collective goal of common good and we believe without polluting the authentic village life and culture village culture, natural environment which is inhabited by diverse people with their numerous festivals and functions, we can harness the development they seek for.

All the infrastructures will be constructed with the traditional Nepalese technology using eco-friendly materials without losing authentic Nepalese architecture technique where it will be blended with modern technology to make them sustainable and people, culture , and environment friendly infrastructure, providing local community the opportunity of active participation in decision making and benefit sharing from the beginning of the project design, during the implementation and handover of the project to the community after the infrastructure becomes ready .

Vision

To promote rural community livelihood via Community and Collective Living by promoting Eco-Cultural- Spiritual Tourism nationally and internationally.

Mission

To mainstream Rural Women’s Economy to harness their economic and social independence.

Goal

To construct authentic community homestay building and equip 4 families with all the needed comfortable infrastructure required for the community homestay.

  • Rationale Of The Project

The project’s role in addressing the rural poverty issues will also address various other socio-economic barriers that is cropping their lives each day. At the same time it will also help in introducing the community across the nation and the world for their values and compassion in today’s broken world to help to live an authentic and graceful life, which is very elusive in today’s era of consciousness.
