Building a home

We would love to share our story how we decided to ask your help in building our home. I'm Nina, I have a small, but growing family, my partner in life Vladan, our son Leo Inti, dogs Mai and Mala and a cat Avantura. We live in Croatia, and we want to build a home here.

We see the future in living more connected to nature and as we can see what's happening to the world, we believe that our future depends on it. And we know that is possible for the co-existence between humans and nature to be harmonic and in balance.

At the moment we live in a small town, but we are granted to stay here, in this house, for just a while longer because of family disagreements, we need to move.

This is why we need your help. We got a permission to build a house on a land in a nature , yet we have no budget for it, no heritage or savings… We don't need that much because we're planning to build a house with earth bags, a way of construction that is easy, fast, nature friendly and low cost. We'd still be left with the issue of water and electricity..some furniture..but one step at a time. We plan to build our earthbag house with bags which are going to be filled with earth, rammed and formed into a wall. Then the walls are plastered with earth mixture which makes them both aestethic and practical.

It comes to this; we need funds for bags, cement, barbed wire, flaxseed oil, windows and doors, wooden floor, gravel for road, food for workers, running water system and so on, so every cent is more than welcome. :)

If you are interested in visiting us or maybe giving a hand for a couple of days, you are welcome to contact us. On site will be also an opportunity to learn something from practical workshops and overall process of building an earthbag house and guaranteed a lot of fun and work.
