This is Danny Ma, a sophomore student from the University of Washington, studying Mechanical Engineering.
Less than a week ago, I heard about an opportunity of volunteering in Trujillo, Peru, where I will participate in building wind turbines for the local community with WindAid Institute. This opportunity incorporates two points, clean energy and traveling. I believe using clean energy is always the way for the human race to stay longer on Earth. WindAid Institute provides me an opportunity to participate in increasing the use of wind energy, which is unlimited on Earth. The turbine will provide the recipient community in Trujillo with free electricity to power electrical items to help improve the standard of living. As I just became a Mechanical Engineering student, this is a prime time for me to apply knowledge that I learned from school and "get my feet into the water".
Traveling is another reason why I joined this program. I do not want to let go any of the chance to go to South America because of its mystery and wilderness. Peru is a country where many ancient civilizations were built in, with tons of natural miracle. I cannot wait to explore Peru.
As you can imagine, a trip like this requires financial support from a number of people. As a result, I am reaching out you, my lovely friends, to raise some $ (Yes, my last name is MA, and I need MAney :). I appreciate any amount of donation, and I hope you can spread the word in your friend groups to help me achieve my goals! Thank you very much!
