Campaign Story
DEVASTATED. SHOCKED
On 1 March 2016, Timothy John Victor, my husband was sentenced to 7 years in Prison for carrying a 'training prop' in his check-in luggage. He is in Nairobi, KENYA.
Tim works as a Close Protection Officer (CPO) Trainer and was
invited to Kenya to discuss CPO and other self-defense training programs with a
Kenyan Consultant. In his check-in luggage he carried with him a molded plastic
firearm, which is used for demonstration purposes. He travelled from South
Africa to Nairobi with a molded training prop'. On his return to South Africa he was
detained for 3 days, arrested and charged with a 7 years + 1 criminal
sentences, to be carried out in a Kenyan Prison without being given legal
representation.
"The plea of guilty was obtained through deliberate deception in that Timothy was, while under arrest and without the benefit of proper legal advice, induced by the arresting officers to admit to the offences by deliberately misrepresenting to him that the being in possession of a toy pistol was a misdemeanor for which he will be liable only to a fine and thereafter be free to travel to his home country".
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Funds go toward the legal costs, recouping costs lost through 'fees' paid while he was detained, and to bring him home. This is a very costly experience. All funds are for Tim to return to South Africa. Let's just get Tim home! ASAP!!

I was moved by your story, shared by a mutual friend. May God bring your family back together very soon, may He open doors for you, may He grant you wisdom and patience.

I was going through my accounts & see that Tim donated R2500.00 to me to go to Bethel School of Worship in 2012!.. I was overjoyed! ..because although I'm really tight on cash, I now have an undeniable excuse to put a large sum of money towards his freedom! How could I not do so! I wish I had more to give, but I'll begin with at least helping him & try match how he helped me in my time of need..
