Bring Her To Canada

My name is Jamie. I'm raising money for a plane ticket, so I can finally be with my best friend this summer. 
WHO ARE WE? 
We were strangers, at one point. She lives on the other side of the world, 8,835 miles away. The chances of me ever coming across her were pretty slim, until she replied to a tweet of mine on Twitter three years ago. My life was never the same after that day. We clicked instantly. It was only three months later that we became best friends, and I had never felt so close to anyone before. We told each other everything. Our darkest secrets, our deepest desires, all the thoughts that came to surface at 4 AM. She was my everything.. and though so much has changed for both her and I over the past three years, THAT has never changed. We've been through a lot together. We've broke each other's hearts. We've lied. We've made promises, and have broken them. We've fought like a married couple and loved like best friends, and have made each other happier than anyone else ever has. We've been through all of this in the last three years, but have never met face to face. 

THE GOAL 
We've spent hours upon hours skyping, talking on the phone, and texting 24/7, but it's incredibly difficult to be 8,835 miles away from each other. We've spent years talking about meeting - what we're going to do, how it's going to go, where we're going to go.. we made lists of things we wanted to do in the short time she'd visit, and planned trips that we weren't even sure were going to happen anytime soon. Right now, neither one of us are in a place where we can afford a 2,600$ plane ticket (the average cost of a plane ticket from New Zealand to Canada). She's going off to university in March and is saving up for those costs, while I'm working a minimum wage job a couple times a week and going to school. We've been talking about her visiting for so long now, and have always said, summer 2014 is the year we're going to do it. So, it's time. My goal is to raise 2,000$ by February, so I can surprise her and tell her we're going to be able to buy her ticket for this year. It's a lot of money, but I believe that with help from every person reading this, that we can do it. A couple dollars can really go a long way, and while it is still the holiday season and there are a lot of charities that need donations, all I'm asking for is a little spare change. We will document her time here to put into a thank you video at the end of her visit, as well as send all of you a personal hand written letter to thank you for your generosity.
